On 16 March 2026, over 40 attendees participated in the Postgraduate Career Pathways Seminar hosted by SAMOS at the Ocean Sciences Campus.
The seminar brought together SAMOS students and the broader ocean sciences community for an insightful discussion on navigating life beyond postgraduate study. Key themes included workplace expectations, essential professional skills, career progression, and the realities of contract versus permanent roles.The panel, featuring Dr Gavin Rishworth, Dr Denise Schael, and Dr Athi Mfikili, and moderated by Dr Carla Dodd, offered thoughtful reflections and practical guidance drawn from their own career journeys.
